One of the classic routes of the city is there: the K2 route. It is 150 meters long and every pitch offers interesting and varied climbing from friction to knob face to lieback,
all that with a breathtaking view, as the base is 500 meters above the city.
Our guides can lead K2 in five pitches to keep good eye-contact with you, if you prefer. The harder pitches are the first two, at 5.9 (5/5+) with one 5.10 (6a/b) move. The first pitch is a beautiful lieback and the second involves small holds and some friction. The upper part of the route is a bit easier.The route ends at the feet of the Crist.
The best time to climb on Corcovado is in the afternoon, since most of the route is in the shade. That’s specially good in the hot summer months.
It takes more or less four hours to hike, climb and walk down to the parking lot.
We provide all the necessary gear, but if you prefer just bring your climbing shoes and harness.
